Hey guys, I've got a few questions on your settings for streaming.

Currently, when I stream its really poor and choppy. I was wondering for people who use streaming tools (OBS [one I use], Fraps) what settings you use to produce quality streams.

I posted a pic of my rig set-up, to see if that may an impact, but my rig is pretty solid so I don't think this is an issue. You can also see my name, which if you want you can call me, but Nubs is what I'll probably pay more attention too.

Regarding my internet connection, here's a pic of my Download(42.43Mb/s)/Upload(10.29Mb/s) . I was wondering if that was good enough for a 720p, stream since I tried googling settings and it really hasn't helped my Quality.

First question I would have would be about your OBS settings. This determines the quality of your stream. As default they are set for a lower quality to ensure more people will be able to view your stream without buffering.

In OBS, click "settings" and pick the encoding tab. Make sure x264 is selected and check CBR, CBR padding and Use custom buffer.

The default buffer rate is like 1500 or lower i think. The higher you set this the higher the quality of your stream. Do not set it above 3500, I use 2200 since my system isnt as beefy as others. if you set it at 3500 you will have a very high quality stream, but anyone with a slow (more like a normal) internet speed will not be able to view without a ton of buffering.

You can increase the frame rate you stream at in the Video tab by just altering the FPS option, really there is no reason to go about 30-45, but if you want you can set it higher. this will cost you a bunch of your own resources and once again increase the buffering on the other end.

Lastly, in the Advanced tab, there is an option called x264 CPU preset. it defaults at very fast. counter-intuitively, you set this slower for a higher quality, but it will rape your CPU. its recommended you use a separate computer for OBS if you are going to change this setting. I just leave mine at veryfast.
